Courts to reopen as JUSUN suspends Strike

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has called off its two-month strike, effective from Monday.

Members of the union had embarked on the strike on April 6 to press home their demand for the financial autonomy of the judiciary.

This decision was taken on Wednesday in Abuja after a National Council Executive meeting.

The National Judicial Council (NJC) had, at a meeting with JUSUN leaders on Tuesday, with the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Muhammad in attendance, urged the striking court workers to end the action

They disclosed that it was in the interest of the country.
