The Osun State Police Command said it has put in place adequate security arrangements by deploying personnel and operational equipment to ensure that this year’s Eid-el Kabir is celebrated peacefully.
The state’s commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode, said this in a statement signed by the force spokesperson on Osun State, SP Yemisi Opalola on Thursday.
Assuring residents on readiness of the command on securing the state, the Police boss guaranteed visibility Policing/security coverage at praying grounds and recreation centres.
According to him, Olokode said he has directed the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Commanders to monitor and coordinate the personnel deployed for the special assignment to guarantee safety of lives and property of the entire citizenry before, during and beyond this festivity.
“To this end, the State Police Command urges the people of the State to comport themselves in accordance with the provision of the constitution. Just as they are on with their legitimate businesses, citizens are advised to be proactive and security conscious.
