First Nigeria Air Force female combat pilot, Tolulope Arotile died on the 15th of July, 2020.
Naija News reports that the death of the Flying Officer was contained in a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola.
According to the statement, Arotile was killed in an accident at the Nigerian Air Force base in Kaduna state, northern Nigeria. She died as a result of head injuries she sustained from the accident at age 23.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan debunked reports that he sacked his erstwhile Special Assistant on New Media, Reno Omokri.
In a statement by his media aide, Mr Ikechukwu Eze, Jonathan said with him from August 17, 2011, to May 29, 2015, when he ceased to be president.
The Presidential Committee on Audit of Recovered Assets (PCARA) currently investigating Ibrahim Magu, suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), alleged that he used a pastor to launder funds abroad.
Magu is currently facing a series of allegations, including not being transparent in the management of recovered loots.
Although he has been released from detention, the case is still ongoing.
The controversies surrounding Ibrahim Magu, the suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), continued, as the Final Report of Presidential Committee on Audit of Recovered Assets (PCARA) which covered the period of May 29, 2015, to Nov. 22, 2018, alleged that the former agency boss was deeply involved in the re-looting of recovered loots.
President Muhammadu Buhari suspended over 10 senior officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
It was gathered that the EFCC’s executive secretary, Olanipekun Olukoyede, was among top officials of the commission suspended by President Buhari.
Olukoyede became the Secretary to the EFCC in November 2018 following confirmation by the Senate.
The Federal Government of Nigeria announced that the 2020 National Examination Council (NECO) exams will start on October 5.
The government also announced that the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) examinations will start on September 21.
This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajuiba, after a two-day meeting with Chief Executives of examination bodies in the country.
A new can of worms was opened in the ongoing exchange of words between Joy Nunieh, former acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and Senator Godswill Akpabio, minister of Niger Delta affairs.
Nunieh said she once slapped Senator Akpabio for sexually harassing her.
She disclosed during an interview on Arise TV that the incident happened at the minister’s guest house in Abuja.
The Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC momentarily slumped during a presentation before the committee set up to investigate the alleged misappropriating of funds in the commission.
The acting MD of the NDDC, Professor Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei, while speaking at the hearing slumped and was immediately rushed down to the hospital, bringing the hearing to a pause as the committee declared 30 minutes break to continue with the meeting.
The Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari declared Thursday, July 30th and Friday, July 31sth as public holidays to mark Eid El-Kabir Celebration.

The Confirmation came after the Sultan of Sokoto and the President General Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar picked Friday as the day for the celebration.
